In 2020-21, [Enterey Consulting](https://www.enterey.com/operations-consulting)conducted a survey to determine the character traits of the highest performing consultants within the life science industries. The purpose of the survey was to determine what makes someone indispensable to industry leaders. The results of the survey were enlightening, to say the least.
We gained a tremendous understanding of the skills and personality traits that enable consultants to make the most positive impact with a client. Additionally, we learned that the responses given by a client when asked first, “what do you need from consultant” and secondly, “what do you value in your greatest consultants” were drastically different answers. With the results of this survey, we were able to modify our recruiting, training, and mentoring processes so that we could provide the most proficient and impactful consultants to our clients. Additionally, we were able to hone our project scoping and proposal procedures so that we could accurately meet the client’s needs and expectations. This first of three articles perfectly articulate the outcome of the survey and defines the ideal consultant who offers the greatest value to industry leaders. Be sure to check back for the next two articles in the coming weeks.
